Abstract


The purpose of this research is to design and create a model of a dryer environment under 1 atm of air pressure and determine the performance of the model engine vacuum dryer. Drying is a way to reduce the water content contained in the material from its original state until the desired final moisture content. Vacuum drying is a drying method that is still rarely used, drying method has a forte to be able to shorten the drying time and using a low temperature as compared to conventional drying is much in use. In this study the model has successfully created a vacuum dryer. The performance of this machine can dry the material under the pressure of 1 atm with conditions of pressure and temperature can be in control
