Geopolymer was synthesized from raw material clay using alkali activation method. Laterite clay characterization of  at  temperature  750 °C during 4 hours and then analyzed by using XRF and SEM-EDS to see elemental composition (in wt%) of  three clay.  SEM-EDS analysis shows that highest of hematite contained in laterite clay samples Tanah Karaeng with 30.42 wt%. The results of FTIR analysis is used to see the clay laterite oxide clusters, showing that span the range of owave number hydroxyl groups for the raw material such as DTK, DPT, DMW, ranging from 3400, 3388.98 cm-1, 3398.59 cm-1, after made geopolymer STK, SPT, SMW, ranging from 3376.88 cm-1, 3367.72 cm-1, 3393.04 cm-1. According to analysis of  X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), the three of laterite clay formed semikristal phase. To see the mechanical properties of geopolymer, it was conducted compressive strength testing. Based on test results obtained for basic, ingredients of  clay laterite Tanah Karaeng (STK) has a compressive strength at 39.91 MPa, laterite clay of Pakatto (SPT) at 31.97 MPa, and laterite clay of Mawang (SMW) at 30.42 MPa.

Geopolimer disintesis  dari bahan  dasar lempung dengan menggunakn metode aktivasi alkali. Hasil karakterisasi lempung laterite pada suhu 750 ˚C  selama 4 jam kemudian dianalisis menggunakan XRF dan SEM-EDS untuk melihat komposisi elemental (dalam wt%) dari ke tiga lempung. Hasil analisis  SEM-EDS memperlihatkan bahwa kandungan hematite tertinggi terdapat pada sampel lempung laterite Tanah Karaeng  sebesar 30,42 wt%. Hasil analisis FTIR dilakukan untuk melihat gugus oksida lempung laterite, memperlihatkan bahwa rentang rentang bilangan gelombang gugus hidroksil O-H untuk bahan dasar DTK, DPT, DMW, berkisar 3400 cm-1, 3388,98 cm-1 , 3398,59 cm-1, setelah dibuat geopolimer STK, SPT, SMW, berkisar 3376,88 cm-1, 3367,72 cm-1, 3393,04 cm-1 . Berdasarkan hasil analisis X-ray Diffraction (XRD), ketiga lempung laterit tersebut membentuk fasa semikrista. Untuk melihat sifat mekanik geopolimer dilakukan pengujian kuat tekan. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian maka diperoleh, untuk bahan dasar lempung laterite Tanah Karaeng (STK)  memiliki kuat tekan sebesar 39,91 MPa, lempung laterite Pakatto (SPT) sebesar 31,97 MPa, dan lempung laterite Mawang (SMW) sebesar 30,42 MPa.
