SINTESIS DAN KARAKTERISASI STRUKTUR KRISTAL CaF2 DENGAN DIFRAKSI SINAR-X

Abstract


This reseach investigated the synthesis of flourite (CaF2) from calcium chloride (CaCl2). The purpose of this reseach to determine effect of adding CaF2 with HF varying masses of the phased formed in CaCl2, analysis and characterization the crystal of CaF2. The flourite (CaF2) made from CaCl2 synthesised by mixing with a aquades and stirring at the 30 minute to form the colour change be a white, then added HF with a varying masses, after that was allowed to stand obtain a precipitate. The precipitated heated at an temperature of 100oC to form the dry solids, then solids calcined of 400oC at four hours. The characterized sampel synthesis using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and crystal structure analysis with software MAUD. XRD characterization result showed the higher percentation of CaF2 at adding 10 ml is 92 wt%. The analysis crystal structure using with MAUD showed the crystal structure of CaF2 is a cubic with space group 225 Fm-3m.

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang sintesis flourite (CaF2) yang berbahan dasar calcium chloride (CaCl2). Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan asam flourida (HF) dengan variasi massa yang berbeda terhadap fasa yang terbentuk pada CaF2, hasil karakterisasi dan analisis struktur kristal dari CaF2. Flourite (CaF2) disintesis dengan cara melarutkan CaCl2 dalam aquades dan distirrer selama 30 menit hingga larutan berubah warna menjadi putih keruh, kemudian ditambahkan dengan HF dengan variasi massa yang berbeda hingga membentuk gel, setelah itu didiamkan hingga diperoleh endapan. Endapan dipanaskan pada suhu 100oC hingga membentuk padatan kering dan dikalsinasi pada suhu 400oC selama 4 jam. Sampel hasil sintesis dikarakterisasi dengan menggunakan X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) dan dianalisis struktur kristalnya dengan program MAUD. Hasil karakterisasi XRD menunjukkan bahwa persentasi CaF2 yang paling tinggi diperoleh pada penambahan sebesar 10 ml yaitu sebanyak 92 wt%. Hasil analisis struktur kristal dengan menggunakan program MAUD menunjukkan bahwa struktur kristal dari CaF2 adalah cubic dengan space group 225 Fm-3m.
