Abstract


The partner of The Community Partnership Program (PKM) is the Integrated Islamic Primary School (SDIT) Khalifah
Makassar. The problems faced were: (1) the application of English and Arabic language skills as a hallmark of this school is not
running well because most of the teachers have just graduated from colleges so they have minimal experience; and (2) English
teachers who teach at this school have not applied many practical and fun methods in teaching English to their students. The
target of this PKM activity is to provide additional knowledge and to practice communicative approaches in teaching English
using the PPP (Presentation, Practice, Production) method. The methods used in this activity were lectures, demonstrations,
discussions, questions and answers, and accompanying partners. The results achieved were (1) partners have knowledge in
designing English learning with a communicative approach, (2) partners have skills in teaching English with a communicative
approach, and (3) partners have the ability to improve student skills with the methods of Presentation, Practice, and Production
(PPP).
