Abstract
This was quantitative research with a correlation design that aimed to determine the relationship between reading comprehension and the ability to solve mathematical story problems for the fourth-grade students of primary schools. The descriptive statistical analysis revealed an average reading comprehension of 63.20 and the percentage was 63.20. The students’ ability to solve math story problems reached an average of 62.52 with a percentage of 62.52% in the medium category. Then, based on the inferential statistical analysis, the t-value (20.82) was greater than t-table (1.66216) at a significance level of 95%. Based on the data analyses, it could be concluded that there was a significant relationship between reading comprehension and the ability to solve mathematical story problems.
