Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the effect of physical activity on systolic and diastolic blood pressure in hypertensive patients at Anur clinic, Sinjai Regency. This type of research used in this study was an experimental design with One Group Pre and Post test Design. Subjects in the study were 20 elderly women with hypertension over 55 years old, with a purposive sampling method. All samples were given physical activity training in the form of low impact exercise. There is a pretest before being given treatment, and then a measurement or posttest is carried out after the treatment. Obesity was identified by calculating body mass index (BMI), systolic and diastolic blood pressure using a Riester blood pressure meter, which was carried out by auscultation with a stethoscope in mmHg units. The data analysis technique used t-test through SPSS 20.00 software to determine the difference in the mean of the two samples. The results showed that systolic and diastolic blood pressure before and after physical activity showed a significant difference with p <0.05. The conclusion in this study is that there is a decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure of patients at the Anur clinic, Sinjai Regency after being given treatment in the form of low impact exercise.
