Abstract

Abstract. The Covid-19 pandemic that has hit the entire world has caused sudden drastic changes in human life. Some difficult situations have to be faced by everyone, and hope is believed to be essential in order to survive. Learning from home and its various consequences must be faced by students, this certainly creates a number of difficulties. This study aims to describe the difficulties of students and identify their hopes regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses an indigeneous approach, 80 students have filled out a questionnaire with open-ended questions. Data analysis was performed by tabulating and categorizing respondents' answers. The results of this study indicate that the difficulties experienced by students during the Covid-19 pandemic include: hampered activities (27%), adaptation problems (23%), limited social interaction (21%), economic problems (17%), and facilities problems. (16%), psychological problems (10%) and family problems (1%). Among the difficulties identified, there is a link between one another. The more complex the difficulties experienced, the greater this has an impact on life. The hopes of students behind the difficulties they face include: life returning to normal, expecting a new normal, and expecting solidarity and togetherness from all parties in facing the Covid-19 pandemic. The results of this study can be the basis for formulating the handling of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic among students.
