PENERAPAN REWARD AND PUNISHMENT UNTUK MENINGKATKAN DISIPLIN GURU DALAM KEHADIRAN MENGAJAR DI KELAS PADA SMA NEGERI 1 BONEHAU KABUPATEN MAMUJU

Abstract


This research is School Action Research (PTS) which is carried out in four stages, namely 1) planning; 2) implementation; 3) observation and evaluation; and 4) reflection. This research was conducted in two cycles. PTS is aimed at finding solutions to real problems that occur in schools, as well as seeking scientific answers on how these problems can be solved through corrective action. Improving the quality of learning in schools is very dependent on several factors. A very important factor, among others, is the application of school culture towards quality improvement. School culture is a positive thing that must be maintained and implemented by all school members without feeling forced. One of the school cultures that must be maintained is the problem of discipline, including the discipline of teachers in teaching and learning attendance in class during the teaching and learning process. To improve the discipline of teachers can be pursued in various ways. In this School Action Research (PTS), an action was tested in the form of implementing Reward and Punishment for teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Bonehau, Mamuju Regency. Based on the results of the research and analysis of the data obtained, it turns out that in the second cycle, teacher discipline in class attendance in the teaching and learning process increased, namely there were 88.89% of teachers who were late for less than 10 minutes, or exceeded the predetermined target of 75% and fulfilled indicators that have been set more or equal to 75%. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that to improve teacher discipline in class attendance in teaching and learning activities can be done by applying Reward and Punishment to teachers. It is suggested to school principals to implement the application of Reward and Punishment to improve the discipline of teachers present in class in teaching and learning activities at school.
