Abstract

The background of this research is observational data from teachers in the Basic Electronics subject at SMKN 1 Mamuju for 2 consecutive years showing that out of an average of 32 students per class X in the Audio Video Engineering Expertise Program, only 10% get the value above 8.. To make it easy for students to understand teaching materials that are sometimes abstract such as electronics, teachers can use instructional media that can overcome the problem of students' lack of understanding and at the same time the teacher is not too difficult to explain and saves practice tools and materials. One alternative solution to this problem is to use computer multimedia. The problem that arises is how to develop learning in Basic Electronics by utilizing computer multimedia and whether implementing the use of computer multimedia in Basic Electronics can improve the quality of the learning process and student learning outcomes. The subjects of this study were 33 students of class X majoring in TEI C at SMK Negeri 1 Mamuju. This research was conducted using a class action research design (action research class) designed through two cycles. The procedures for each cycle consist of: (1) planning, (2) implementing actions, (3) observing, and (4) reflecting. The type of data collected is in the form of qualitative and quantitative data collected by FGD techniques, observation, in-depth interviews, and measurement of learning outcomes through tests. The collected qualitative data were analyzed based on: data reduction, presentation, conclusion drawing and simultaneous verification. While quantitative data were analyzed with descriptive statistics. The results showed: Student achievement tends to increase from the initial average value of 5.58 in cycle I to 6.70 in cycle II. While the student learning activity factor also increased to a very good criterion of 75%. Very satisfactory results were obtained from the teacher's performance achieving a very good score of 90.45% in cycle II from the original 76.19% in cycle I. From the data analysis it was concluded that: 1) There was an increase in student achievement results after being given multimedia-based learning 2 ) Student activity in learning experienced a very drastic increase for the good category from 37.5% to 75%. 3) The teacher's performance was very good

in cycle II, namely achieving a score of 90.45% from the previously very good 76.19% in cycle I.
