Application of the Explicit Instruction Learning Model to Make Dry Herbariums for Mentally Disabled Children in Special Schools

Abstract


This research examines the low ability of children to develop skills in class VII mentally retarded children at SLB YPAC Makassar. The research problem formulation aims to determine: 1) the ability to make dry herbarium in mentally retarded children before implementing the explicit instruction learning model, 2) the ability to make dry herbarium in mentally retarded children after implementing the explicit instruction learning model, and 3) to find out whether there is an increase in the ability to make dry herbarium for mentally retarded children by applying the explicit instruction learning model. The research approach used is a quantitative approach with descriptive research type. The students involved in this research were mentally retarded children in class VII at SLB YPAC Makassar with the initials R. The data collection technique used was an action test
