Abstract
The objectives of this research are (1) to measure the difference in cognitive abilities before and after classes taught using science teaching materials based on illustrated envelopes among students in Grade IV at SDN 015 Tandung, (2) to measure the difference in cognitive abilities before and after classes not taught using science teaching materials based on illustrated envelopes among students in Grade IV at SDN 015 Tandung, and (3) to measure the difference in cognitive abilities before and after classes taught and not taught using science teaching materials based on illustrated envelopes among students in Grade IV at SDN 015 Tandung. The research design used in this study is a quasi-experimental design. The population in this study consists of 40 students, and a sample of 20 students was selected. Data collection techniques used in this research are tests and observations.
