The Influence of Using Comic Media on Beginning Indonesian Reading Ability in Class II Elementary School Students in Jeneponto Regency

Abstract


The sample used in this research was a saturated sample. The independent variable in this research is the use of comic media while the dependent variable is initial reading ability. The data collection techniques used in this research are observation, tests and documentation. Data was collected by administering Pretest, Treatment, and Posttest. The data analysis technique uses prerequisite analysis tests, including normality tests, linearity tests, and hypothesis tests with final analysis using the paired sample test with the SPSS system. The results of this research show that 1) The use of comic media for class II students at UPT SD Negeri 21 Kelara, Kelara District, Jeneponto Regency was carried out very well in accordance with the steps that had been taken. 2) The students' initial reading ability before being given treatment was in the good category and after being given the treatment was in the very good category. 3) The use of comic media has a significant effect on the reading ability at the beginning of class II at UPT SDN 21 Kelara, Kelara District, Jeneponto Regency.
