Application of Pop Up Media to Improve Social Studies Learning Outcomes for Grade IV Elementary School Students in Makassar City

Abstract


The purpose of this research is to find out the application of pop-up media to improve social studies learning outcomes for fourth grade students of SD Inpres Antang 1, Manggala District, Makassar City. This study used Classroom Action Research (PTK) which was carried out in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings. In this study there were 4 stages, namely: (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) observation and, (4) reflection. The subjects in this study were 1 teacher and 28 students consisting of 13 male students and 15 female students. The focus of this research includes the application of pop-up media and student learning outcomes. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, testing and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. Based on the results of the study, it was shown that the application of pop-up media in social studies subjects in cycle I with the achievement of mastery learning outcomes was in the sufficient category while the achievement in cycle II was in the good category. The conclusion of this study is that applying pop up media can improve social studies learning outcomes for fourth grade students of SD Inpres Antang 1, Manggala District, Makassar City.
