Abstract


This research aimed to find out (1) the teaching media used by an English teacher; (2) The students’ perception of the teaching media used by an English teacher. The data were taken from 10 students of the eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Liukang Tangaya Kab.Pangkep. This research was conducted in a qualitative research method. Research that used a naturalistic approach to look for the phenomenon in a specific context where the researcher does not attempt to manipulate the phenomenon of interest is called Qualitative research (Golasfshani, 2003). The method of this research is qualitative descriptive methodology. Qualitative research methods will use to examine questions that can best by verbally describing how participants in a study perceive and interpret various aspects of their environment. Qualitative research refers to process-oriented methods used to understand, interpret, describe and develop a theory on phenomena or settings. It is a systematic, subjective approach used to describe life experiences and give them meaning.
