The Use of Flash Card Media to Improve Vocabulary Mastery of Deaf Students in Special Schools in Barru Regency

Abstract


This research examines the low vocabulary mastery ability of fifth grade deaf students at SLBN. The purpose of this study was to determine (1) the ability of vocabulary mastery using flashcards for deaf students before the intervention (Baseline 1/A1), (2) the ability of vocabulary mastery using flashcards for deaf students during the intervention (Intervention/B), (3) The ability to master vocabulary using media kartukata (flashcards) in deaf students after being given Intervention (Baseline 2/A2), (4) Knowing the increase in vocabulary mastery using media kartukata (Flashcards) after based on the results of the analysis between conditions before being given intervention (Baseline 1/A1), when given intervention (B) and after being given intervention (Baseline 2/A2). The data collection technique used is an action test. The subject of this study was one fifth grade deaf student at SLBN 1 Barru. This research uses an experimental method that uses Single Subject Research (SSR) with A-B-A design. The results of the study concluded that the use of word card media (flash cards) can improve the vocabulary mastery ability of deaf children in class V.
