Abstract


This study examines the ability of learning outcomes of children with disabilities in the Indonesian language subject, especially in beginning writing at SLB Negeri 1 Bantaeng. The purpose of this study was to find out how to increase initial writing skills through the application of brain gym methods with arm activation movements in children with Cerebral Palsy Class III at SLB Negeri 1 Bantaeng. This research is quantitative descriptive. The data collection technique used was a written test. The subject in this study was a quadriplegic child with the initials MLS, type of cerebral palsy, spastic type, class III. The results showed that the initial writing ability before the application of the brain exercise method through arm activation in class III disabled children was in the incapacitated category, then the initial writing ability after the application of the brain exercise method through arm activation was in the very capable category, this shows that there was an increase initial writing skills through the application of brain gym methods through arm activation.
