The Influence of the Word Institution Method in Improving the Articulation Ability of Deaf Students at Special Schools in Makassar City

Abstract


This study examines the articulation ability of deaf students in SLB Negeri 1 Makassar. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the articulation ability of grade II deaf students before the application of the institution word method, how the application of the institution word method in improving the articulation ability of deaf students, how the articulation ability of deaf students after the application of the institution word method, and how to increase the articulation ability of students before and after the application of the institution word method. The subject in this study has the initials NAA, a grade II deaf student at SLB Negeri 1 Makassar. This research uses a descriptive quantitative research type method. Data collection techniques using tests and documentation. The results of the study showed that the institution's word method was influential in improving the articulation ability of deaf students. This can be proven by the test results before the application of the institution word method with a value of 16.6 in the very less category, and after the application of the institution word method the subject obtained a value of 100 in the capable category.
