The Influence of the Principal's Leadership on the Work Motivation of Vocational High School Teachers

Abstract


This study aims to determine the influence of the principal's leadership on the work motivation of teachers at SMK Negeri 1 Makassar. The variables in this study are the principal's leadership as the independent variable and the teacher's work motivation as the dependent variable. The population in this study were all teachers at SMK Negeri 1 Makassar. The sampling technique uses saturation sampling technique, the sample is all of the existing population, namely a total of 75 teachers. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive percentage analysis, instrument test and hypothesis testing. From the results of the analysis of the coefficient of determination (r2) the value of r2 = 0.620 is obtained, this means that the influence of the principal's leadership on teacher work motivation is 6.2% and the remaining 93.8% is influenced by other factors. While the results of the t-test analysis obtained a significant value of 0.031 < 0.05, which means that the principal's leadership has a significant effect on teacher work motivation, thus the hypothesis is accepted.
