The Effectiveness of Self-Management Techniques for Reducing Off-Task Behavior of Madrasah Aliyah Students in Majene Regency

Abstract


The experimental design used was a non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study were students of class XI who had a high level of off-task behavior, namely 27 students and 16 students as the research sample. The number of samples is 16 respondents who are divided into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. Data collection using off task behavior scale instrument. Data analysis used descriptive statistical analysis and parametric analysis, namely independent sample t-test. The results showed that, 1) The level of off-task behavior of class XI students at MAN 1 Majene before being given treatment in the form of self-management techniques was in the high category and after being given treatment in the form of group counseling using self-management techniques it decreased to a low category. 2) The implementation of group counseling using self-management techniques is carried out according to the stages that have been previously designed. Furthermore, during the process of implementing group counseling using self-management techniques, all students actively participating in the implementation of this group counseling experienced a decrease in off-task behavior, whereas students who were not given treatment in the form of group counseling using self-management techniques did not experience a decrease in the level of off-task behavior.
