Application of Reframing Techniques in Group Counseling as a Solution to Increase Social Tolerance of High School Students in Pare-Pare City

Abstract


This study aims to find out several points, namely 1) The description of social tolerance of class X IPS students at SMA Negeri 2 Pare-Pare. 2) An overview of the implementation of the reframing technique in increasing the social tolerance of class X IPS students at SMA Negeri 2 Pare-Pare. 3) The application of the reframing technique can increase the social tolerance of class X IPS students at SMA Negeri 2 Pare-Pare. This study uses a quantitative approach with a Quasi experimental design model. The experimental design used was nonequivalent control group design. Sampling using proportional random sampling technique. Collecting data using social tolerance scale instruments and observation guidelines. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistical analysis and parametric analysis, namely the t test. The research results obtained show that: 1) The level of social tolerance of students of SMA Negeri 2 Pare-Pare is in the low category. 2) The implementation of the reframing technique is carried out in accordance with the procedure that has been designed through five stages, namely rational treatment, identification of counselee's perceptions and feelings in problem situations, deliberately recalling perceptions that cause problems, identifying alternative perceptions, modifying perceptions in problem situations, and assigning assignments home and follow up.
