The Effect of Teacher Professionalism in Managing Learning on High School Students' Learning Motivation in Economics Learning

Abstract


This study aims to determine the effect of teacher professionalism in managing learning on students' learning motivation in the economics subject of social studies students at SMA Negeri 10 Pinrang. The variables in this study are teacher professionalism as the independent variable and learning motivation as the dependent variable. The population is all social studies students in class X, XI, XII at SMA Negeri 10 Pinrang consisting of 79 students. The type of research used is descriptive research using a quantitative approach. The data collection technique used is a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is an instrument test consisting of validity and reliability tests, hypothesis testing consisting of simple linear regression analysis, t-test and coefficient of determination using SPSS 25 for windows. Based on the results of the data analysis that has been carried out, a simple linear regression equation model Y'=11.666 + 0.672X is obtained, which means that for each addition of one unit of teacher professionalism, the value of learning motivation increases by 0.672. From the results of the analysis of the coefficient of determination (R2) R2 = 0.232, which means that teacher professionalism contributes to student learning motivation by 23.2 percent while the remaining 76.8 percent is influenced by other factors. While the results of the t-test analysis obtained a significant value of 0 less than 0.05, which means that teacher professionalism has a significant effect on student learning motivation, thus the hypothesis is accepted.
