The Influence of Teachers' Communication Skills on Vocational High School Students' Learning Satisfaction in North Toraja Regency

Abstract


This study aims to determine the effect of teacher communication skills on student satisfaction in class XI of the accounting expertise program at SMKN 1 Toraja Utara. The variables in this study are the teacher's communication skills (X) and student learning satisfaction (Y). The population in this study were all students of class XI in the accounting expertise program at SMKN 1 Toraja Utara consisting of 82 students. The sampling technique uses a saturated sample. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique used was descriptive percentage analysis, instrument test consisting of validity and reliability tests, and hypothesis testing consisting of simple linear regression analysis, pearson product moment, coefficient of determination and t-test. Based on the results of the descriptive analysis, the teacher's communication skills obtained an average actual score of 89.2 percent which was included in the very good category while student learning satisfaction obtained an average actual score of 78.3 percent which was included in the good category. The results of the data analysis obtained a simple linear regression equation model Y = 37.828 + 0.338X, which means that for each addition of one value of the teacher's communication ability, the value of student learning satisfaction has increased by 0.338.
