Abstract


This study aims to determine the effect of Parenting Parenting on Interest in Continuing Education to College Students of Class XII Accounting Skills Competence at SMK Negeri 1 Bulukumba. The variables in this study were parenting style as the independent variable and the interest in continuing their education to college as the dependent variable. The population in this study were all students of class XII accounting expertise competence at SMK Negeri 1 Bulukumba consisting of class XII AKL 1 and XII AKL 2. The sampling technique used a census sampling technique or saturated sample, where the sample was taken from the entire population, namely 62 students. . Data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive percentage analysis, instrument test, and hypothesis testing using SPSS version 25 for windows. Based on the results of data analysis that has been carried out, parenting styles obtained an average actual score of 65.2 percent which is classified as high. Meanwhile, for the results of interest in continuing education to higher education, an average actual score of 78.2 percent was obtained which was classified as high. From the results of simple linear regression analysis, the equation model Y=19,945+1,067X, which means that for every addition of 1 value to parenting, the value of interest in continuing education to college has increased by 1,067. From the results of the analysis of the coefficient of determination ( ) obtained a value of = 0.485, which means that parenting has an influence on the interest in continuing education to college by 48.5% and the remaining 51.5% is influenced by other factors.
