Abstract


This researchis related to the influence of the Role Playing Model on the Speaking Skills of Fourth Grade Student of SD Inpres Barombong II. This type of research is an experimental research type using a Quasi Experimental Design research design. The independent variable in this study is the role playing model. The dependent variable in this study is students' speaking skills. The population used was all fourth grade students with a sample of grade IVA as a control class with 28 students and class IVB as an experimental class with 28 students and using a sampling technique, namely purposive sampling. Data collection techniques in this study were tests, observations, and documentation. The instruments used in this research are essay questions, which consist of 10 questions. Data analysis used descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The achievement of learning outcomes shows an increase when using the role playing model, this is evidenced by the posttest average value being higher than the pretest average value. The results of hypothesis testing using the PairedSample T-Test show a significantly smaller value than T Count > T Table, then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of the application of the Role Playing Model on the Speaking Skills of Class IV Elementary School Inpres Barombong II District Tamalate City Makassar.
