The Effect of Using Fractional Edu Card Game Media on Learning Interest in Mathematics Subjects of Elementary School Students in Makassar City

Abstract


This research is motivated by the lack of use of mathematics learning media that is able to attract students' attention, resulting in low interest in learning in students. The independent variable in this study is the use of fractional Edu Card game media while the dependent variable is students' interest in learning Mathematics. The design of this research is a quasi-experimental design. The population and sample in this study were fourth grade students with a total of 40 people who were determined by simple random sampling technique. Data collection techniques are observation sheets, questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis consisting of normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing using independent sample t-test. The results of the research that have been carried out can be concluded that: (1) The description of the use of fractional Edu Card game media is in the very good category. This can be seen from the implementation of the fractional Edu Card game media for 2 meetings, namely the provision of treatment 1 by 67% in the good category and giving treatment 2 by 93% in the very good category. (2) Students' interest in learning Mathematics obtained in the experimental class questionnaire is in the very interested category, and the questionnaire in the control class is in the interested category and of the 4 indicators of interest in learning the most influential when using the Edu Card game media, fractions are indicators student attend. (3) The probability value is 0.01 <0.05 and tcount > ttable (7.075 >2.021), so it can be concluded that there is an effect of using fractional Edu Card game media on learning interest in Mathematics for fourth grade students at SDN KIP Bara-baraya I Makassar City.
