Abstract


This research is a quasi-experimental research that aims to determine whether there is an effect of the application of the problem based instruction model on social skills in obtaining information on the social studies content of fourth grade students of UPT SD Negeri 11 Bontoramba, Bontoramba District, Jeneponto Regency. The population in this study were all 4th grade students of UPT SD Negeri 11 Bontoramba, Bontoramba District, Jeneponto Regency as many as 2 classes, while the sample was 15 students from Class IVA as the experimental class and 15 students from class IVB as the control class. The research data were obtained by giving multiple choice questions in the form of pretest and posttest. The data analysis technique is using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The results of descriptive statistical analysis showed that the implementation of the problem based instruction model at the first meeting went quite well and at the second meeting it went well.shows that an increase in social skills in obtaining student information in the experimental class is better than the control class. So it can be concluded that: (1) the learning process by applying the problem based instruction model went well, (2) the student test results showed an increase in social skills in obtaining information in learning, and (3) there was a significant influence on the application of the problem based instruction model. on social skills obtaining information on the content of social studies for fourth grade students of SD Negeri 11 Bontoramba, Bontoramba District, Jeneponto Regency.
