Application of Guided Note Taking Method to Improve Learning Outcomes of Elementary School Students in Takalar District

Abstract


This study aims to improve student learning outcomes by using the Guided Note Taking method in the learning process.  The approach used is a qualitative approach with the type of research being Classroom Action Research (PTK). The implementation of this research action is carried out in two cycles. Before its implementation, observations are first carried out to obtain preliminary data. Then each cycle consists of four stages which include planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. To determine the percentage level of guided note taking learning methods and student learning outcomes, researchers used observation sheets and evaluation tests in each cycle. The subjects in this study were teachers and grade IV students of SDN No. 134 Inpres Su'rulangi, Takalar Regency in the 2022/2023 school year, totaling 15 students consisting of nine female students and six male students. Data analysis was performed during and after data collection. The data analysis technique used is qualitative analysis technique. Based on the data obtained during the implementation of cycle I and cycle II, the results of research were obtained in cycle I, namely in the observation of guided note taking learning methods in teacher activities are in sufficient qualifications (C) and there is an increase in cycle II which is in good qualifications (B). Meanwhile, in the observation of the process, the aspects of students in cycle I are in less qualification (K) and there is an increase in cycle II which is in sufficient qualification (C). The conclusion of this study is that by applying the guided note taking method, it can improve student learning outcomes in the content of social studies class IV lessons at SDN No. 134 Inpres Su'rulangi, Takalar Regency.
