Application of Mind mapping Learning Model to Improve Learning Creativity of Elementary School Students in Social Studies Learning in Tana Toraja Regency

Abstract


This research is a type of classroom action research (CAR) using a qualitative approach with the aim of knowing the application of the mind mapping learning model to improve student learning creativity in social studies subjects in class V SDN 139 Tampapute, Tana Toraja district. The subjects in this study were fifth grade students of SD Negeri 139 Tampapute in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year with a total of 16 students. The number of male students is 9 people and the number of female students is 7 people. The focus of research in this study is the focus of the process and the focus of research results by applying the mind mapping model to social studies lessons. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, tests, and documentation. The data analysis technique in this research is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the research from cycle I and cycle II show that the first cycle of teacher teaching activities can be categorized as Good (B) with a percentage of 75%, student learning activities in the Enough category (C) with a percentage of 60%, and the assessment of student creativity in the less creative category. In the second cycle the teacher's teaching activities can be categorized as Good (B) with a percentage of 91.67%, student learning activities in the Good category (B) with a percentage of 80%, and the assessment of student creativity in the creative category. The conclusion of this study is that the application of the mind mapping learning model can increase students' creativity in social studies lessons in class V SDN 139 Tampapute.
