The Influence of the Use of Team Games Tournament (TGT) Cooperative Learning Models on the Cooperation of Elementary School Students in Gowa District

Abstract


This research was conducted on the basis of the problems found in SD Negeri Barembeng II, namely the lack of student cooperation. The purpose of this study was to find out the description of the cooperative learning model of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) type of students in 5th Grade content at SD Negeri Barembeng II Kecamatan Bontonompo Kabupaten  Gowa, to find out the description of the results of student collaboration on the content of 5th Grade lessons at SD Negeri Barembeng  II Kecamatan Bontonompo Kabupaten  Gowa after using the cooperative learning model of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) type,  and to determine the effect of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) type of cooperative learning model on student cooperation in science lesson content for 5th Grade SD Negeri Barembeng II Kecamatan Bontonompo Kabupaten  Gowa. This research is included in experimental research, quantitative approach, and uses a quasi-experimental research design with a nonequivalent control group design type. The population in this study were all 5th Grade students of SD Negeri Barembeng II with a sample of 20 grade VA students and 17 grade VB students selected by purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential analysis. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that the use of this learning model at the first meeting was effective and at the second meeting it was very effective. The results of the inferential analysis using the independent sample t-test showed that there were differences in the results of the post-non-test between the experimental and control classes. This shows that an increase in student cooperation in the experimental group is better than the control group.
