The Influence of the Use of Animation Media on Social Studies Learning on the Learning Motivation of Elementary School Students in Makassar

Abstract


This research is an experimental research conducted to see whether there is an effect of using animation media on social studies learning on the learning motivation of fourth grade students of SDI Malengkeri Level 1 Makassar. With the aim of (1) To determine the use of animation media on the learning motivation of fourth grade students of SDI Malengkeri Level 1 Makassar (2) To determine the learning motivation of fourth grade students of SDI Malengkeri Multilevel Makassar (3) To determine the effect of using animation media on learning motivation of grade students IV SDI Malengkeri Level 1 Makassar. The total population in this study were 51 grade IV students of SDI Malengkeri Level 1 Makassar. The samples used in this study amounted to 27 students in the experimental class (IVA) and 24 students in the control class (IVB). This research is an experimental research, with a Quasi Experimental Design, which uses the Pretest-Posttest Noneequivalent Control Group Design. The sampling technique in this study was carried out by purposive sampling technique. The results of this study indicate that (1) The description of the use of animation media when learning activities run effectively is in the very good category. (2) The description of student’s learning motivation in the experimental class increased after being given treatment using animation media with a good category compared to the control class that did not use animation media in the learning process with sufficient category. So it can be said that (3) The use of animation media has a significant influence on the learning motivation of fourth grade students at SDI Malengkeri Level 1 Makassar.
