Application of Student Activity-Based Learning Model to Improve Primary School Student Learning Outcomes in Science Subjects in Barru Regency

Abstract


The problem in this research is the low student learning outcomes in science subjects. The formulation of the problem in this research is how to apply the student activity-based learning model (PBAS) to improve the science learning outcomes in the fifth grade of UPTD SDN 146 Barru. The approach used is descriptive qualitative and this type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles and each cycle is carried out in two meetings. Each cycle goes through 4 stages, namely, the planning stage, the implementation stage, the observation stage and the reflection stage. Techniques and data collection are: observation, test and documentation. The subjects of this study were 19th graders and 5th grade teachers, consisting of 9 males and 10 females. In this study, the researcher acted as the executor of the action and the teacher as an observer. The data analysis technique is qualitative. The results showed that student learning outcomes in science subjects with the achievement of mastery learning outcomes in the first cycle were in the sufficient category while the achievement of mastery learning outcomes in the second cycle was in the good category. The conclusion in this study is that the application of the student activity-based learning model (PBAS) can improve the science learning outcomes of fifth grade students of UPTD SDN 146 Barru.
