The Relationship Between Social Environment and Mastery of Indonesian Vocabulary for Elementary School Students in North Luwu Regency

Abstract


This research is a non-experimental research that aims to determine 1) the description of the social environment, 2) the results of mastery of Indonesian vocabulary; 3) knowing the relationship between social environment and mastery of Indonesian vocabulary for third grade students of SD Negeri 211 Bone-Bone, Bone-Bone District, North Luwu Regency. The type of research used in this research is correlational research. The independent variable in this study is the social environment, while the dependent variable is the students' Indonesian vocabulary mastery. The population in this study were all third grade students of SD Negeri 211 Bone-Bone, Bone-Bone District, North Luwu Regency. The sample in this study was 23 students and used a causal research design. The result data in the study were obtained from the distribution of social environment questionnaires and the results of the Indonesian vocabulary mastery test. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Based on statistics with inferential statistics, normality test and product moment test are carried out. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it can be seen that the relationship between social environment and mastery of Indonesian vocabulary is 0.031 which is more than 0.05. From the test results, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the social environment and the mastery of Indonesian vocabulary.
