The Effect of the Use of Google Classroom Applications on the Learning Outcomes of Fourth Grade Elementary School Students in Science Learning in Makassar City

Abstract


This research is a quasi-experimental design research using a nonequivalent control group design. This study aims to determine; (1) An overview of the use of google classroom in the fourth grade science subjects of UPT SPF SD Inpres Minasa Upa 1, Rappocini District, Makassar City, (2) There is an effect of the use of google classroom on student learning outcomes in the fourth grade science subjects UPT SPF SD Inpres Minasa Upa 1 Rappocini District, Makassar City. This research was conducted in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year at UPT SPF SD Inpres Minasa Upa 1, Rappocini District, Makassar City. This study consisted of an experimental class (IVB) and a control class (class IVA). The total number of class IV is 40 students, consisting of class IVB as many as 22 students and class IVA as many as 18 students. This sample uses a non-probability sampling technique in the form of purposive sampling. Data collection techniques include tests, observation sheets, and documentation. Descriptive research instruments and inferential statistical analysis include normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing. The results showed that; (1) Learning activities using the Google Classroom application are effective, and (2) There is an effect of science learning outcomes on the use of the Google Classroom application.
