Application of the Talking stick Type Cooperative Learning Model to Improve Learning Outcomes of Elementary School Students in Polewali Mandar Regency

Abstract


The problem in this study is the low learning outcomes of fifth grade students. The problem in this research is how is the process of applying the Talking stick learning model to fifth grade students at SDN 015 Tandung, Tinambung District, Kab. Polewali Mandar and whether the application of the Talking stick learning model on Civics content can improve the learning outcomes of fifth graders at SDN 015 Tandung, Tinambung District, Kab. Polewali Mandar. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) and the approach used is a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were fifth grade students at SDN 015 Tandung, Tinambung District, Kab. Polewali Mandar for the 2021/2022 academic year, with a total of 25 students consisting of 9 boys and 16 girls, as well as a teacher. The focus of research in this study is the focus of the process and the focus of student learning outcomes on the content of Civics by applying the Talking stick Type cooperative learning model. Data collection techniques used are observation, tests, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing which are processed qualitatively. Based on the data obtained during the implementation of cycles I and II, the results obtained for the first cycle are in the Enough category (C) and for the second cycle are in the category (B). The conclusion in this study is that the process and student learning outcomes on Civics content in class V SDN 015 Tandung, Tinambung District, Kab. Polewali Mandar by applying the Talking stick type of cooperative learning model has increased.
