Application of Cognitive Restructuring Techniques to Improve Students' Self-Efficacy in High School

Abstract


This study aims to determine: (1) Overview of students' efikasi diri problems at SMA Negeri 1 Takalar. (2) the method of applying cognitive restructuring techniques to improve student efikasi diri at SMA Negeri 1 Takalar (3) applying cognitive restructuring techniques to improve student efikasi diri at SMA Negeri 1 Takalar. This type of approach in this study uses an experimental method with a quasi-experimental design pattern. The form of design used in this study is a non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study were students of class X MIPA 5 and X IPS at SMA Negeri 1 Takalar as many as 32 students. The sampling technique of this study used proportional random sampling. The number of samples in this study were 16 respondents who were divided into two, namely 8 respondents for the experimental group and 8 respondents for the control group who had a low self-confidence scale score.The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics and parametric statistics with the calculation of the paired sample t test using the SPSS version 25.0 for windows program. Based on the results of the research before and after the treatment, the results of the calculation of the hypothesis test with the value of Asymp Sig = 0.003 < = 0.05 indicate H0 is rejected, it can be concluded that the application of group counseling with cognitive restructuring techniques can increase students' efikasi diri in SMA Negeri 1 Takalar.
