Abstract

This study aims to discover the correlation between extroverted and introverted students’ personalities, students’ learning styles and their speaking performance. The sample of this study is 40 students from the 4th semester of the English education program. The instruments used were questionnaires and tests. The Eysenck Personality Questionnaire and the VARK Learning Styles Questionnaire were used to assess personality and learning style. The Pearson Product Moment and Multiple Correlations were used to correlate students' personality, learning styles, and speaking score. The result of the research shows that there is no correlation between extrovert and introvert personality (X1) and speaking performance (Y2), with r attaining -0.143. when P was calculated for the sig (2-tailed), it was 0.379, which was more than 0.005 (p>0.05), and between learning styles (X2) and Speaking Performance (Y) is 0.283 > 0.05 which means there was no significant correlation between Learning Styles and Speaking Performance and based on the r-count value (Pearson Correlations): It is known that the r-count value for the correlation between Learning Styles (X) and Speaking Performance (Y) is 0.283 < r table 0.312 so it can be concluded that there is no relationship or correlation between the Learning Styles variable and variable of Speaking Performance.  Based on the multiple correlation, Sig. F change was 0.402 > 0.05 which means between variable personality (X1) and variable learning style (X2) have no correlation with variable speaking performance (Y).
