The Use of OME TV Application to Improve Speaking Skill of the Eleventh-Grade Students of SMA Negeri 3 Barru

Abstract


This research aimed to know the effect of using the Ome TV Application to improve students’ speaking skill. The method of this research was quantitative and the design of this research was pre-experimental. The population of this research was the second-grade students of SMAN 3 Barru, and the sample of this research was the eleven science one with the total number of students was 27 students. This research used a speaking test as a research instrument that was given before and after using Ome TV. This research analyzes data quantitatively by using SPSS 21. The result showed the mean score in the posttest (62.74) was higher than the mean score in the pretest (36.33), and the result obtained the value of Tcount (13.752) higher than the Ttable (2.052) with the degree of freedom (26) and the significance of 2-tailed (0.000<0.05). It means that the Null Hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, and the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It can be concluded that the use of Ome TV can improve students’ speaking skill.
