Abstract


This Community Partnership Program (PKM)
conducted at SDIT Ar-Rahmah Makassar. The purposes of this
activity are to a) improve teachers' knowledge and skills in
understanding mathematical concepts; b) increase teachers'
knowledge and skills in utilizing learning media in
understanding mathematical concepts; and c) increase teachers'
knowledge and skills in learning mathematical concepts for
low classes. The teachers' problems are a) insufficient
knowledge and skills about the use of media in learning
mathematics; b) insufficient knowledge and skills in
understanding mathematical concepts; and c) lack of
knowledge and skills in utilizing media in understanding
mathematical concepts. The methods used in this program are
training, mentoring, and discussion between team and
teachers. This method is carried out to 15 teachers and
subsequently evaluation and monitoring session are carried out
periodically for 3 months. The results of this study showed that
1) teachers' skills and knowledge are improved; 2) teachers are
able to utilize media in understanding low-grade mathematical
concepts; and 3) publications in mass media or journals with
