Abstract


Nutrition and health are important prerequisites for
the success of early childhood education. The nutrients are
brain-forming materials and other organs related to child
development, and play a role in the formation of child
immunity. Whereas health is a guarantee for the continuity of
the early childhood education process. This activity aims to
provide counseling to early childhood education teachers on
how to monitor or check children's health in general, and
analyze the nutritional status of early childhood based on
anthropometric measurements (weight and height). The
method used was direct observational nature that is natural and
pleasant. In addition, the methods used were interviews and
interactive discussions between participants and the
implementation team and between participants and
participants. The counseling participants were kindergarten
teachers who are members of the Takalar District Kindergarten
Teacher Association and parents of Azzahra PAUD
Kindergarten children. Based on the results of monitoring by
the implementing team, it was found that the participants were
able to detect children's health status by recognizing physical
signs of healthy children, and were able to assess the
nutritional status of children by measuring and analyzing
anthropometric status based on body weight and height. The
participants were very enthusiastic about participating in this
program. They were very active during the discussion session
and they also attended the event until it was completed.
Furthermore, some participants asked for additional time to
obtain more information about children's health and nutrition.
