Penguatan keterampilan melalui Virtual Class dan Teleconference Class Guru SMA di Kabupaten Jeneponto

In this community service entitled “Virtual Class
and Teleconference Class for Teachers in SMA Negeri 1 and
SMA Negeri 2 of Jeneponto Regency” aims to train and
implement teachers’ ability in using electronic media for
learning, virtual class and teleconference class in teaching and
learning process in order to develop and improve teachers
quality and professionalism in educational media technology.
Learning Management System (LMS) and Content
Manajemen System (CMS) are software that support the
implementation of virtual class, e-learning and the supporting
features of teleconference class. Features in virtual class and
teleconference class help the teachers in designing multimedia
modules (voices, pictures, and texts) to improve students’
effectiveness in absorbing subjects. Methods used in this
community service are discussion and question and answer
session to gain understanding of teachers’ background
knowledge of multimedia applications and the supporting
technology, lecturing method is used in presenting theories on
software and hardware as well as maintenance. Demonstration
method is used to show the steps in making virtual class.
Simulation method is used to show the result of a media and
the effectiveness of features of the implemented media. The
outcome of this training is to make the forty teachers
understand the software and hardware used in designing
virtual class and teleconference class as well as educational
media technology; able to design and implement the virtual
and teleconference class, which consists of course, chat,
discussion, answer key (answering quiz, quiz score),
attendance, and video chat; able to manage the implemented
virtual and teleconference class well as a means of virtual
media based learning; have learning media for every subject
which will be uploaded to virtual class and teleconference
class to improve the effectiveness of learning in both schools.
Students will be easier in following the subject, the subject are
more interactive and motivating. Lastly, the teachers are
motivated in preparing teaching materials to be uploaded into
the media or features available in virtual and teleconference
class as well as improve teachers’ ability in educational media
