Abstract


Science society technology approach is expected to improve understanding, comprehension and reasoning power of
students are getting creative and critical, is expected to improve student learning outcomes at the end. Teachers are required to be
more creative in preparing and designing the learning model that will be done during the development of society and the
advancement of technology. This is done to achieve national goals in general and Civics Education particular goals, in principle
aims to educate and guide students into good citizens, which is responsible for both personal, social/community, the nation and
the country even as citizens of the world. One approach to learning that and can realize these goals is the approach of Science
Technology Society applied to learning about globalization in Civics. Globalization is the process of uniting citizens of the world
in general and thoroughly into the community. With merging of world citizens in general, the world will feel more cramped. As
mentioned above, that globalization showed the world that increasingly narrow, the greater interdependence among nations.
Globalization is the worldly process, it menas all activities taken into account for the benefit of the world. Development of every
nation is because of interaction with other nations. We must be open to the outside world, but we must remain firmly with the
sense of our nation's culture. Globalization has both positive and negative impacts which will appear huge competition of society,
where everyone is racing to do the best to achieve the best anyway. On the contrary, globalization can also be a threat of national
culture. Globalization will make a global culture and will be a threat to the local culture or the nation culture. To understand more
about the impact of globalization, below will explain the impact of positive and negative effects of globalization.
