Pengaruh Madden Julian Oscillation (MJO) terhadap Tinggi Gelombang Laut di Selat Makassar

Abstract – This study aims to analyze the wave height profile, the effect of the Madden Julian Oscillation (MJO) on the wave height, and predict the wave height. The data used secondary data for 2005-2015 consisting of daily MJO data were obtained from the BMRC (Bureau of Meteorological Research Center) website and monthly wave height data were obtained from BMKG Paotere Makassar. The data analysis technique is simple linear regression equation. The results of the analysis show that the highest profile of waves in the Southern Makassar Strait in 2005-2015 occurred in January, June and September, while the lowest occured in November and April. The highest influence of MJO on wave height occurred in August (23.2%) and March (22.1%), while the lowest occured in April (0%) and May (0.2%).
