Abstract


Abstract: In general, fish can be found in almost all types of waters both in sea water and freshwater. One of the freshwater ecosystem in South Sulawesi is the Jeneberang River  lined from Takalar Regency, Gowa Regency, to Makassar City. The existence of the River Jeneberang has provided enormous benefits for the community, for example in fisheries sector. An inventory of the types of fish that exist in these waters is important to know  its types and benefits. This study aims to identify the types of fish found in the estuary area. The research used purposive random sampling method, with a sample of 4 repetitions in each of the selected station. The results showed that there were 6 types of fish representing 4 families. These types of fish are Toxotes jaculatrix, Dermogenys sp., Crenimugil seheli, Ambassis interupta, and two other species that have not been identified.
