Abstract


Abstract:    The objective of the study is to find out The influence of Implementing Discovery learning model towards students' ability in finishing biological questions in HOTS category  at State Senior High School  1 of Tana Torqja.. The design of this study was Quasi-Experimental design that involved two groups where one of group acted as experimental group and another one  acted as control group. The population of the study was all the eleventh grade  students of Science of State Senior High Scholl 1 Tana Toraja. The researcher / the wiriter used random sampling by taking two classes as sample of study; XI IPA 1 as experimental group, and XI IPA 3 as control group.  The type of research instrument is test of learning outcomes in the form of multiple choice tests. The research data was collected by learning outcomes tests before and after learning and analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics are used to describe students' ability to finishing biological questions in HOTS category while inferential statistics to test research hypotheses are done by analysis of variance. The results obtained indicate that the significance value of students' ability to solve biological problems in the HOTS category is less than 0.05 (α <0.05). This shows that the discovery learning model influences the ability of students to finishing biological questions in HOTS category. Keywords:  Discovery Learning, HOTS questions.
