Abstract

Abstract: The Indonesian state still has many obstacles in education, especially the role of the teacher who is a source of knowledge dissemination of students is considered as a container, most teachers use the lecture method in delivering this learning material which makes students have a sense of saturation. Based on observations, teachers still emphasize the provision of course material, not paying attention to how to equip students with Science Process Skills (KPS). This is thought to be the cause of low student learning outcomes This study is a pre-experimental research that aims to determine the effect of the application of guided inquiry models on science process skills and biology learning outcomes in students of class XII IPA MA-Almawaddah warrahmah Kolaka with one-group pretest design -posttest design only uses one experimental class without any control class where the independent variable in this study is the application of the Guided Inquiry model, while the dependent variable is the science process skills and learning outcomes. The population in this study were all students of class XII IPA MA-Almawaddah Warrahmah, with a total sample of 30 people. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets and tests in the form of essay & multiple-choice questions. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive statistical analysis using N-Gain and inferential to test homogeneity, normality and test hypotheses. Research on the influence of the application of the guided inquiry model to the science process skills and student learning outcomes has been conducted by Anita Handayani (2016) that based on the results of the processed data obtained a value of 2.12 which indicates the use of the guided inquiry model gives an effect of 48.30% on the improvement of skills student science process. And in the research conducted by St. Saniah (2016), that the application of guided inquiry models influences student learning outcomes. This is seen from the data obtained that there are 56% of students in the high category and 36% are in the very high category so there are no more students in the moderate category. , low and very low. Based on the results of the analysis of science process skills obtained the average value of science process skills of students occupies a high category in several aspects, both asking, observing, classifying and communicating and descriptive statistical analysis obtained that the value of N-Gain for student learning outcomes reached an increase of> 95 % in the high category of 100, which indicates H1 is accepted, namely the application of the guided inquiry model effectively to science process skills and student learning outcomes in class XII IPA MA Al-Mawaddah Warrahmah Kolaka Keywords: Guided Inquiry Model, Science Process Skills, Learning Outcomes
