Abstract


Abstract:  The application of the 2013 curriculum requires a change in the learning paradigm, where students are trained to learn to observe, ask questions, collect data, analyze (associate) data and communicate learning outcomes. Curriculum 2013 is a curriculum that applies in the National Education system using a concept of scientific approach (Scientific Approach) and competency- based which is directed at achieving competency. curriculum changes in 2013 accompanied by changes in how to assess student competencies, but do not experience changes in terms of teaching materials used by teachers in supporting learning. Based on the reality in the field, most teachers still use conventional teaching materials, namely, teaching materials that are left to use, just buy, instant and without any effort to plan, prepare and organize it themselves. Thus, it is possible if the teaching materials used by the teacher are not contextual, not interesting, and not in accordance with the needs of students, so that later it will have an impact on the decline of motivation and learning outcomes of students. Therefore, it is expected that the influence of to use of modules based on scientific approach to student motivation and learning outcomes. Modules based on scientific approach are printed teaching materials that are systematically made by loading 5 M (observing, asking, trying, reasoning and communicating) with the aim that learners are easier to learn independently in accordance with their knowledge. This module based on scientific approach aims to help students in learning activities and motivate students in learning. So that the learning outcomes obtained by students are better.
