Abstract


Abstract:  One of the problems that many are faced with achieving learning goals is the low learning result of students who are proven that there are still many students who cannot achieve learning result in accordance with KKM when taking daily exams or tests, especially in the field of Biological studies. Based on the result of preliminary observations conducted by researchers at several schools in Bone South stated that the biology learning result of students in general are not satisfactory because they have not reached the minimum completeness criteria which is 75. This condition indicates that the problem solving ability is low, thinking ability, and conceptual understanding owned by students this is closely related to metacognition. Metacognition is knowledge of cognition in general and awareness of, as well as knowledge of, self-cognition. Students who have metacognitive abilities are able to learn which includes how should learning be done, what is and is not yet known, which consists of three stages, namely planning about what must be learned, how, when to learn, monitoring of the learning process that he is doing, and evaluation of what has been planned, carried out, and the results of the process. By growing metacognitive knowledge is expected to improve student learning result. Keywords: Metacognition Knowledge and Learning Result.
