Abstract

Abstract: Learning is a process of interaction between students and educators and learning resources in the learning environment through the use of the learning model needed as a reference and pattern to teach students systematically and effectively and efficiently. The selection of learning models is very important in order to attract the attention of students, make them comfortable learning, in accordance with the character of teaching material, and can help achieve learning goals. One of the learning models presented by world education experts is a Quantum Teaching learning model that presents lively learning with all its nuances, with a TANDUR learning design framework that divides learning into two elements namely context and content, creating an effective learning environment, interactions and moments learning that makes students learn meaningfully. Quantum Teaching is believed to be able to improve student learning achievement, which has been proven by previous studies, can also affect student learning activities through a framework of Quantum Teaching design, and is believed to be able to improve life skills in students' metacognition skills. Through this study, the researchers tried to examine the effect of the Quantum Teaching model on learning activities, metacognition skills, and learning outcomes of class X students of SMA Negeri 3 Barru, with the aim of (1) To describe the activities of students who were taught the Quantum Teaching model, To find out the description of the metacognitive skills of students who are taught the Quantum Teaching model, (3) To find out the description of the learning outcomes of participants who are taught the Quantum Teaching model, (4) To determine the effect of Quantum Teaching models on student learning activities Quantum Teaching for students' metacognition skills, (6) To determine the effect of the Quantum Teaching model on student learning outcomes. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research design with Pretest-Postest Control Group Design involving two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. The subject of this study is the X grade science students of SMA 3 Barru in odd semester 2019/2020. Sampling is done randomly (Random class) for determining the experimental group and the control group. Data will be obtained through tests and observations. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential quantitative data analysis based on measured variables.  Keywords: Quantum teaching, learning activities, metacognition skills, and learning outcomes.
