Abstract

Abstract: One of the implementations of the 2013 curriculum development is that teachers can create a practicumbased learning process with a series of scientific activities that are experienced directly by students. One learning model that can support the implementation of scientific activities and refers to the 2013 curriculum is the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model. The Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model is a learning model that requires students to be active in the learning process, because this learning model aims to improve student learning outcomes, both in terms of mastering concepts, developing creative thinking skills, and for increasing activities students. The learning process cannot be separated from the use of media or learning resources. One media or learning resource that can be used as a reference so that learning can take place effectively and efficiently is by using Student Worksheets (LKPD). The use of LKPD cannot provide satisfactory results without being accompanied by the use of learning models in the learning process. One of the appropriate learning models to improve learning outcomes and develop understanding of students' concepts is to integrate LKPD with the Predict –Observe-Explain (POE) learning model. Therefore the formulation of the problem in this study are: (1) whether the POE-based student worksheet is valid, (2)) whether the POE-based student worksheets are practical, and (3)) are the POE-based student worksheets effective. This study aims to: (1) find out that the worksheet of POE-based students is valid, (2) find out that the worksheet of POE-based students is practical, and (3) find out that the POE-based student worksheets are effective. The development research model carried out refers to the 4D model. The 4D model is a model for developing learning devices developed by Thiagarajan and Sammel. The 4-D development model consists of four main stages, namely: Define (design), Design (Develop), Develop (development), and Desseminate (spread). Through this research development is expected to produce alternative teaching materials that can facilitate students to make discoveries by following the stages that exist in POE-based LKPD and in accordance with the 2013 curriculum. Keywords: student worksheet, Predict-Observe-Explain (POE)
