THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING THE DUOLINGO APPLICATION TO IMPROVE STUDENT’S VOCABULARY MASTERY AT SMP NEGERI 3 KALOSI

Abstract


This research aims to find out the development of effectiveness using the Duolingo application to improve vocabulary mastery among students. The method used was quantitative with a pre-experimental research design with a sample of 24 students from class VIII-B using a cluster random sampling technique. In obtaining the data, the researcher used the pre-test and post-test as an instrument. The results of the data analysis showed that by using the Duolingo application, the student’s vocabulary mastery developed. It can be proven by the t-test value was lower than P (0.000 < 0.05) which means that H0 this research was rejected and H1 was accepted. So, it can be concluded that the use of the Duolingo application is effective to improve vocabulary mastery among students at SMP Negeri 3 Kalosi.
